Plunkett Named Corporate Vice President of St. Dominic Health Services
St. Dominic Health Services is pleased to announce that Barry K. Plunkett has been promoted to the position of Corporate Vice President, effective January 1, 2005.
Plunkett came to St. Dominic Hospital as Director of Corporate Communications in 1985, having previously served in a similar capacity at Providence Hospital in Mobile, AL. He was promoted to Vice President of Corporate Communications in 1987, and again to Senior Vice President in
2000.
In his new role with the Corporate Office, he will become more closely involved in the various entities of St. Dominic Health Services and he will represent the organization within its many civic endeavors. He will assist St. Dominic Health Services President Sister Mary Dorothea with
the myriad of special projects that are unique to the Corporate Office.
Plunkett will remain involved in the corporate communications and marketing efforts for St. Dominic Hospital as well as the other corporate subsidiaries. He will also be available to the hospital to assist with long range planning and strategic activities.
Within the Jackson community, Plunkett has been involved extensively with the Fondren Renaissance Foundation, Friends of the Jackson Zoo, Mississippi Symphony Orchestra, Keep Jackson Beautiful and Mississippi Main Street Association serving as an officer on their Board of Directors. He is past president of Voluntary Hospitals of America - Gulf States Marketing
Group and is a graduate of the Leadership Jackson program.
A native of Tupelo, MS, Plunkett received his undergraduate degree from Millsaps College in Jackson, MS, and attended graduate school at the University of South Alabama in Mobile, AL.
